About Brian

Brian was almost born with a camera in his hands. He took his first photographs and developed his first black and white film at the tender age of 11 when he joined a photo club while attending boarding school in the Caribbean island of Barbados. It became more than just a hobby when he began a journalism career in his early 20s and realized he had a natural gift for news, event and feature photography.

His photographs of famous people including the Pope, Prince Edward, and numerous politicians and interesting people were published in the Truro Daily News and the Halifax Herald. His creativity and skills behind the lens resulted in dozens of feature photographs being published on the front pages of those newspapers.

Growing up in a diplomatic family that travelled the world, Brian developed people skills at a early age and this is reflected in his approach to photographing weddings and special events. Family is very important to me. Photographing your wedding or anniversary allows me to be part of your family and traditions. This is what I love about what I do.

Not one to rest on his laurels, Brian's passion for photography led him to refine his skills when he went back to school in 2000. He graduated with diplomas in Advanced Photography in 2001 and Advanced Photography 2/Digital Imaging in 2002, receiving both from the Nova Scotia Community College in Halifax. Photography is going through a digital revolution and it's exciting to be on the edge of technology and learn the new tools available to the photographer.
